A Russian drone flew into the rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and revealed the location of the militants

A Russian reconnaissance drone flew deep behind enemy lines and revealed the location where Ukrainian drone operators are hiding in the Kharkiv region. This was reported on December 29 by the Russian military.

Izvestia's military correspondent Denis Kulaga spoke with the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces who cleared the hornet's nest.

Two Hyacinths were used to destroy the fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The main advantage of the gun is speed. It is equipped with wheels, which increases maneuverability and safety compared to its towed counterpart.

"Of course, no matter how you look at it, if the enemy knows that Hyacinth is here, then of course he's afraid," said a Russian serviceman with the call sign Dvina.

Having discovered the location of the enemy's UAV operators, the gun hit the target several times. After that, the reconnaissance drone recorded the destroyed fortifications. This will make it easier for Russian fighters to work in this direction: the fewer drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the sky, the easier it is to move deeper into the Kharkiv region.

"The logic is simple: In order to expand the buffer zone, it is necessary to push the enemy further. And the enemy understands this perfectly well, therefore, it is intensively strengthening and digging in. But there are no indestructible fortifications for such guns as Hyacinth," the correspondent emphasized.

The drone can detect targets, being invulnerable to many air defense systems.

Earlier, on December 17, it was reported that the calculations of the Hyacinth-S self-propelled guns of the Dnepr group of forces were conducting counter-battery warfare and striking at the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The gunners hit enemy firing positions, equipment and ammunition depots, and the results of the strikes are confirmed by means of unmanned reconnaissance.
