A fragment of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket landed in the Vilyuysky district of Yakutia.
A fragment of the separating part of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle was discovered on the territory of the Vilyuysky district of Yakutia after launch from the Vostochny cosmodrome. This was reported on December 28 in the Telegram channel of the Rescue Service of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
As specified, the fall was recorded in the Yugyulyatsky village of Vilyuysky ulus a few minutes after the launch of the rocket.
"A group of rescuers in the Vilyuysky district, together with Roscosmos employees, recorded the fall of a fragment in [the area of the rural settlement of] Yugyulatsky Nasleg in Vilyuysky ulus at 22:31 [16:31 Moscow time]," the ministry said in a statement.
The service added that environmentalists from Moscow, Khabarovsk and Yakutsk are working on site, who are measuring radiation levels.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that after the launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle from the Vostochny cosmodrome, Russian Aist-2T satellites and dozens of vehicles from friendly states were successfully launched into orbit. The satellites were separated from the Fregat upper stage in stages, with a total withdrawal time of about five hours. The devices are designed for remote sensing of the Earth, scientific and technological research, as well as monitoring of various processes.
