This year, the International Outdoor Festival "Theater Boulevard" has become one of the main cultural events in Moscow. More than three thousand Russian and foreign artists took part in it, and more than 1.5 million viewers attended its events, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

The festival lasted 92 days and brought together 14 venues, including stages on Pokrovsky, Chistoprudny and Tsvetnoy boulevards, on Patriarch's Ponds, in the Polytech Museum Park and in the Green Courtyard near Sovremennik. 3,000 hours of theater program have been prepared for the guests.

"Taking into account the feedback from Muscovites and tourists, in 2025 we decided to expand the project and schedule it for the entire summer season. For comparison, one of the world's oldest theater festivals in Avignon lasted less than a month this year. And the Moscow Theater Boulevard was held from June 1 to August 31, becoming the longest-running theater festival in the world," Sergunina noted.

According to her, not only performances were prepared for visitors, but also master classes, creative laboratories, excursions, family programs and musical and poetic evenings. "If in 2024 the festival covered seven genres, then in 2025 there were twice as many of them," the vice mayor specified.

Special attention was paid to children and teenagers this time. They could attend puppet shows, street performances, poetry competitions. On Chistoprudny Boulevard, young guests were invited to create their own cartoon, learn the basics of stage speech and acting techniques, and classes on vocals and playing musical instruments were held on Tsvetnoy.

For the first time, the Theater Boulevard festival was held in 2024. Initially, it was supposed to hold a four-week theater marathon. However, at the request of the audience, it was extended until the end of the summer. The project was awarded three awards of the national award "Event of the Year", including the Grand Prix in the nomination "Socio-cultural Event of the Year".
