Sanctions, inflation and declining incomes are encouraging Russians to reconsider their cost structure: procedures such as manicures, eyelash extensions and eyebrow correction are gradually moving from a regular cost item to a secondary one.

As Ilona Totikova, cosmetologist and director of the Laguna Vip clinic, told Izvestia, this trend may indicate the formation of a long-term trend towards a more natural approach to self-care and avoiding excessive spending.

The decline in interest in beauty services affects different age groups. Young women increasingly prefer more affordable leisure and care formats, while older clients tend to reduce unnecessary expenses.

According to Totikova, the market may face not so much a recession as a structural adjustment, in which demand will shift towards simpler, more affordable and independent forms of care.
