A small lioness with severe injuries was taken from a blogger in the capital and handed over to zoo specialists. This was reported to Izvestia on December 27 by volunteers of the Pride Land Lviv Park.

The animal was kept in an apartment in Moscow City, however, according to preliminary data, the lioness had serious problems with her spine, tail and paws, causing severe pain. The park reported that the predator's condition raises concerns.

"Forecasts are still cautious. Very fragile bones that are almost completely transparent," said the Pride Land Lions Park.

The volunteers noted that the seizure took place on December 25. According to the owner, he purchased a lion cub based on an ad, noting that such offers for the sale of wild animals are common.

Starting from September 1, 2025, Russia has banned the domestic keeping of 121 species of wild animals, including lions.

Earlier, on December 25, it was reported that an Amur tiger, listed in the Red Book, died in the Khabarovsk Territory as a result of a traffic accident. According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, the animal ran onto the highway and got under the wheels of a car, as a result of which several cars were damaged. They added that the Amur tiger is listed in the Red Book and the fine for its death can reach 2 million rubles.
