Alikhanov announced the start of serial production of the Tu-214 after completion of improvements.

The phased launch of serial production of Tu-214 passenger aircraft is planned after completion of all necessary improvements by 2026. This was announced on December 27 by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.

"These measures will allow us to increase the production of Tu-214 aircraft, mass production of which is planned to begin in stages after completion of all improvements by 2026," the minister said, quoted by TASS.

According to him, the measures being implemented should ensure an increase in the production of the Tu-214, and the receipt by the aircraft of a certificate of approval of the main change in the standard design actually opens the way to full-scale serial production.

Alikhanov noted that with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the enterprise has passed the stage of deep modernization and technical re-equipment. In particular, a machining center with high-performance turning and milling equipment was built and put into operation. In addition, a fuselage assembly housing has been created, where riveting machines and slipway assembly equipment are being installed.

As Alikhanov pointed out, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation expects to produce eight Tu-214 aircraft in 2026, 12 in 2027, and 20 units annually starting in 2028.

On December 27, Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin announced that it was the approval to change the design of the Russian Tu-214 aircraft that opened the possibility for the deployment of its full-scale production.

On February 5, Alikhanov announced that the first deliveries of Tu-214 aircraft are scheduled for the current year. During his speech at the NAIS Civil Aviation Infrastructure exhibition, he said that Russia faces the task of completely replacing imported components for the Superjet, Tu-214 and Il-76, as well as developing new aircraft based on domestic technologies.
