On December 27, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on a video recording in which people in pagan costumes admit on Christmas Day in Ukraine that they do not know who Jesus Christ is, while stating that they came to the event to raise funds for an assault brigade.

"On December twenty-fifth, at the direction of [Ukrainian leader Vladimir] According to Zelensky, pagans in goat, death and angel masks celebrate "Christmas" to raise funds for the assault brigade. They don't know who Jesus Christ is, whose birth became a Christian holiday, because Volodimir Aleksandrovich Shvonder didn't tell them," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

The diplomat also described the video as "everyday life of the infected."

Earlier, on December 26, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the inadequacy of Zelensky's Christmas speech demonstrates at what level and in what emotional state decisions can be made in Kiev.

Irish journalist Chase Bowes reported on December 24 that Zelensky's statements about changing the date of Christmas celebrations in Ukraine indicate that everything is for sale in the country. It was noted that in June 2023, the Ukrainian president signed a decree postponing Christmas from January 7 to December 25. The main pretext was called "abandoning the Russian heritage."
