European officials fear that the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky may have unpredictable consequences. This was reported by CNN with reference to European officials.

"As stated by European officials, Ukrainians have been insisting on a meeting between Zelensky and Trump for several months. The Europeans expect a positive meeting, as they consider the current dynamics of relations between the United States and Ukraine to be productive. Nevertheless, they acknowledge that the outcome of any meeting with Trump is unpredictable," the article says.

According to American and European officials, the meeting is not expected to include European leaders.

"There are no low—risk scenarios for the Trump situation," said one NATO official.

Earlier, the White House reported that Trump and Zelensky will hold a meeting on Sunday, December 28, in Florida at 23:00 Moscow time.

The day before, Trump called Zelensky's proposals to resolve the conflict "irrelevant" until he personally approves them. It is noted that the politician reacted "rather coolly" to Zelensky's latest proposal for a settlement.
