The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, said that about a third of the residents of the Ukrainian capital were left without heat supply. He wrote about this on December 27 in his Telegram channel.

"Almost a third of the capital is now without heat supply. There is no electricity in some areas of the left bank," Klitschko wrote.

He also said that power engineers are already working on restoring electricity supply. At the same time, Klitschko did not mention the repair work of Kiev's heat supply lines.

Earlier, on December 1, Klitschko said that teams of workers who work in Kiev will be redirected to the city of Krivoy Rog in southeastern Ukraine to restore heating systems. He specified that the Kiev city hall will send to Krivoy Rog more than 20 employees of the Kyivteploenergo enterprise, as well as six units of special equipment.

Prior to that, on November 17, it was reported that thermal power plants (TPPs) were seriously damaged in several regions of Ukraine. On the same day, Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov said that at the moment the situation with electricity supply in the city is difficult. According to him, emergency blackouts are in effect now.
