The Canadian national team beat the Czech Republic in the group stage of the Youth Hockey Championship. The match took place on December 27 and ended with a score of 7-5.
Brady Martin, Michael Hage, Zane Parekh, TJ Iginla, Ethan McKenzie and Porter Marton scored for the winners.
Tomas Poletin (two goals), Wojciech Cichar, Petr Sikora and Tomas Galvas scored for the Czech team.
The match was the first meeting in the tournament, and Canada's next meeting will be with the Latvian national team on December 28. The Czech Republic will play Denmark on the same day.
