Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved a new program to ensure the safety of civil aircraft flights. This became known from the decree of December 23 published on the official website of the publication of legal acts.

"To approve the attached flight safety program; indicators of an acceptable level of safety in civil aviation," the document says.

It is noted that the main principle of the program is to identify and eliminate potential risks before accidents occur, and one of the key goals will be to reduce the frequency of incidents.

The program covers the flight operation of aircraft, maintenance of their airworthiness, airfield flight support and air traffic control. It is also planned to create a system that encourages reporting incidents and security threats without fear of unjustified punishment, with a clear distinction between human error, violation of requirements and negligence.

Earlier, on September 17, Mishustin, at a meeting with the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Dmitry Yadrov, said that a lot of work was being done in Russia to improve flight safety. He noted that over the next six years, the intensity of flights within the country is expected to increase 1.5 times.
