In 2026, the pace of shipments of Russian grain is expected to increase. This will be facilitated by an increase in domestic production of cereals and legumes in the current agricultural year, as well as stable demand from key importing countries. This assessment was given by Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Agroexport Federal Center, in an interview with Izvestia on January 9.

The record volume of production in the global grain export market this season leads to increased competition in the main sales markets, he said.

"As for fat and oil products, an important factor here may be an increase in the role of soybean and rapeseed products in the structure of Russian exports with a relatively stable level of shipments of sunflower oil and meal," the source added.

The head of Agroexport predicted steady demand for meat products. According to him, the consumption of poultry meat continues to grow, including the consumption of turkey and duck. A decrease in supply for these types of products is not expected.

Meanwhile, the global dairy market is under pressure from overproduction, accumulated stocks, and, consequently, low prices, Ilyushin noted. Positive dynamics is expected for value—added products - dry whey, ice cream, condensed milk, and fermented milk products, he listed.

"In general, an important role will be played by increasing cooperation with China not only in the field of raw materials, but also in terms of finished products, as well as more active consolidation of Russian exporters of processed products in other friendly markets in Asia, the Middle East and Africa," the expert concluded.
