The deputy spoke about the launch of the Children's Book Card program in 2026.
State Duma deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Budget and Taxes Committee Kaplan Panes said that the "Children's Book Card" ("Golden Key") program will start operating in Russia in 2026.
— It is designed for children aged three to six years and will provide their families with 3,000 rubles annually for the purchase of books. The card will be issued to every child upon reaching the age of three, which is especially important for large families," the deputy said.
Panes noted that the list of books for the program will be formed by experts, and the face value of the card, according to him, should be enough to purchase at least 10 editions. He also called the initiative a logical continuation of the "Pushkin Map" and part of a unified system of cultural development of children.
