Another batch of Su-30SM2 fighters from Russia has arrived in Belarus, the press service of the country's Defense Ministry reported on December 26.

"Another batch of Su-30SM2 fighters has arrived at one of the Belarusian airfields," the agency's Telegram channel says.

Colonel Alexander Belyaev, Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, and Chief of Aviation, called the arrival of new aircraft a good tradition.

"Soon these planes will undergo technical examination at the air base and in a maximum of two weeks they will defend our beloved Homeland in the airspace," he is quoted as saying.

Belyaev added that this batch of Russian aircraft is not the last, new deliveries are expected in the future.

Prior to that, the arrival of the Su-30SM2 batch in Belarus was reported on August 14. It was noted that the aircraft were received as part of military-technical cooperation (MTC) between Belarus and the Russian Federation in order to enhance the capabilities of the country's Air Force.

In May, Belarus also received a batch of Russian Mi-35M helicopters. Major General Sergei Frolov, Chief of the General Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Belarusian Air Force, said that this helicopter is currently capable of performing the full range of combat missions.
