In Russia, there is an increase in personnel activity in the construction industry
In 2025, the construction market faced a noticeable increase in personnel activity. The demand for workers in the industry increased by 9%, and the number of job seekers' responses increased by 88%. This is stated in a study by Avito Rabota and GK Razvitie, which was reviewed by Izvestia on December 29.
The most in demand are handymen, welders, locksmiths, concrete workers and painters. The maximum increase in demand for the year was shown by liners (+120%), electric and gas welders (+119%) and plumbers (+77%). The number of vacancies increased the most in the Sakhalin Region (+42%), the Leningrad Region (+36%) and the Stavropol Territory (+34%). The Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk and Volgograd regions are the leaders in the number of resumes.
Experts attribute the dynamics to the expansion of construction in the regions. Among the most active territories are the Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk and Rostov regions. At the same time, the market is registering an influx of personnel from related fields: specialists from sales, insurance and real estate are moving most noticeably.
"Today, it is the regions that are becoming the centers of growth of industry competencies. In locations where developers work for the long term and launch large projects, a stable personnel ecosystem is being formed — from working specialties to engineering teams. We see that more and more young people are starting their careers not in the capital, but at regional sites: the pace of housing commissioning is higher here, there are more practical tasks and opportunities for professional growth," said Sergey Goncharov, General Director of Razvitie Group.
An additional incentive for interest in the industry is associated with revenue growth. According to Avito Rabota, initial offers for realtors in the third quarter reached 121,383 rubles (+18% compared to last year), sales managers added 51% to 108,882 rubles, insurance agents — 69,340 rubles (+21%). In a number of positions, income is generated not only by salary, but also by bonuses, which increases the attractiveness of professions.
The study also reflects an increase in the number of job resumes. The number of responses from installers increased by 103%, from electricians — by 96%, from turners — by 92%, from carpenters and painters — by 88% and 87%. There is also a growing demand for hybrid specialists capable of working at the intersection of engineering, IT and manufacturing, which is associated with the digitalization of processes and the introduction of BIM technologies.
"Technology is changing the construction industry, but manual labor and expertise remain the foundation. We are seeing an increasing demand for hybrid specialists who work at the intersection of engineering, IT and architecture. The construction boom in the regions is increasing the need for such teams. We are developing an internal talent pool, cooperating with specialized universities and creating conditions for the professional growth of specialists," concluded Goncharov.
On December 22, Anastasia Morgunova, product director and co-founder of the Moye Delo accounting department, told Izvestia the reasons for hiring the best employees in December. According to her, a decrease in activity in the labor market can play into the hands of employers, as it also entails a decrease in competition. Applicants also have advantages in this approach. Despite the high competition, active candidates have a small head start in December: while many competitors postpone active search until January, companies tend to close vacancies faster, and active applicants have a real chance to get on the shortlist and discuss conditions faster than they would have been during a busier period.
