Farewell to traffic police officers killed in the explosion has begun in Moscow.
A farewell ceremony is being held in Moscow for two traffic police officers, Ilya Klimanov and Maxim Gorbunov, who died in the explosion on Yeletskaya Street. Footage of the farewell on December 26 is published by Izvestia.
"It's hard to put into words what they did. They protected the city, they protected the people. They did not die, they remained at their posts forever and forever in our ranks," said Oleg Baranov, head of the Russian Interior Ministry in Moscow.

It is known that 24-year-old Lieutenant Klimanov served in a separate battalion of the traffic police of the Department of Internal Affairs in the Southern District of Moscow. His childhood friend, 25-year-old Lieutenant Maxim Gorbunov, died with him. Both were from Stupino, near Moscow. Klimanov joined the police force on the advice of a friend after serving in the army just over two years ago. In his spare time, he played for the local football team FSK Mikhnevo.
On December 24, it became known that a loud explosion had occurred in the south of Moscow. Fragments were visible on the road. The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case in connection with the incident.
Later, a source from Izvestia reported that the bomber who set off the explosion was acting at the behest of fraudsters. The interlocutor said that telephone scammers deceived the man by hacking the Gosuslugi service. He was misled by reports that he was cooperating with law enforcement agencies and disrupting an "espionage operation." The criminals instructed the man to plant an explosive device under the car.
