North Korean leader Kim Jong-un noted the need to increase the ammunition production plan for 2026. This was reported on December 26 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"Comrade Kim Jong-un noted the need to raise the production plan for 2026, aiming for development," the publication says.

It is specified that during the visit of the country's military-industrial enterprises, Kim Jong-un expressed high appreciation for their work and outlined key economic and technical tasks for the next year. He stressed the importance of "promising demand" for missile and artillery systems, and also noted the need to strengthen the "technical base of related manufacturing enterprises" to expand production capacities.

In addition, Kim Jong-un said that the IX Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea will consider the creation of new enterprises in the field of the military-industrial complex (MIC). He also signed draft plans for the modernization of the largest military-industrial complex enterprises, which will be submitted to the party congress for consideration.

On December 25, North Korea launched a long-range missile towards the East Sea. It was clarified that the latest high-altitude and long-range anti-aircraft missiles were used at that time. The launches made it possible to check the tactical and technical characteristics of the system, and the missiles successfully hit conditional targets at a distance of 200 km.
