- The deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction reacted to the proposal to fine for Christmas trees in the entrances
The placement of Christmas trees and holiday decorations in the entrances of apartment buildings in Russia does not qualify as damage to residential premises. This statement was made on December 26 by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction Alexei Yeresko at the request of State Duma Deputy Mikhail Delyagin.
Earlier, the deputy proposed to introduce a moratorium on fines for non-compliance with fire safety requirements when installing Christmas trees and garlands in entrances during the New Year holidays.
"The installation of a New Year's tree and other festive decorations in the entrance of an apartment building does not relate to the damage or use of residential premises, unauthorized redevelopment and (or) reconstruction of premises in an apartment building," RIA Novosti quoted the deputy minister as saying.
