The cause of Vera Alentova's death became known

People's Artist of Russia Vera Alentova died as a result of a blood clot rupture. This was reported on December 25 by a source of Izvestia.

"Alentova had thromboembolism," the source said.

Earlier it was suggested that the cause of death of the actress was a myocardial infarction. However, as the source clarified, there is no data confirming a heart attack. However, it has not yet been established which artery was blocked by a blood clot.

It is noted that one of the most severe complications of thrombus detachment is pulmonary embolism (PE), which can be fatal in a short time. At the same time, information about the presence of PE in Alentova has not been received at the moment.

The farewell ceremony for the People's Artist will take place on December 29 at the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater.

"A civil memorial service is planned for December 29," a source told TASS.

It is noted that the exact time of the ceremony will be announced later.

To play on stage, the actress failed the exams at the medical institute.

Alentova's death at the age of 83 was reported earlier that day. Footage of Alentova's hospitalization after visiting the Mayakovsky Theater, where the farewell ceremony with actor Anatoly Lobotsky was held, was also published. The source of Izvestia reported that Alentova was hospitalized in a state of clinical death — her heart stopped.
