The Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed on December 25, 2024, en route from Baku to Grozny. A few minutes before the crash, the crew gave an emergency signal. The Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan called the preliminary cause of the disaster external interference. A criminal case was opened after the incident. There were 62 passengers and five crew members on board. As a result of the accident, 29 passengers and two crew members survived.
