Flu incidence rates exceeded the norm in 26 regions of Russia

The excess of epidemic indicators for influenza was recorded in 26 regions of Russia. This was announced on December 25 by the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova.

"As of today, we have 26 subjects of the Russian Federation that have exceeded the epidemic threshold," TASS quoted her as saying.

According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, this indicator is not large. She also clarified that the type of virus A called Hong Kong flu is well known in medicine. At the same time, all waves of such flu, as a rule, come in November.

In addition, Popova clarified that at the moment, almost 55% of the total population has been vaccinated.

But the pace began to decrease, Rospotrebnadzor said.

Svetlana Vakhrusheva, Director of the Department of Clinical Medicine at the FEFU School of Medicine and Life Sciences, Candidate of Medical Sciences, noted on December 20 that despite the rapid increase in the incidence of Hong Kong flu, the virus is unable to repeat the fate of COVID-19, at the moment there is no reason to repeat the pandemic scenario.

The press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported on December 16 that the incidence of influenza in Russia is estimated to be moderate.
