On December 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during a meeting of the State Council that the ability to work in a team is becoming a competitive advantage of a person in modern conditions.

"I would add that today the ability to work in a team is also becoming a competitive advantage for a person. It is no coincidence that in the new season of the Leaders of Russia contest, applications for participation are submitted not individually, but as part of a team...> like—minded people," he said.

Putin added that the new season of the competition will primarily assess the willingness of the contestants to work as a team.

On November 11, Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, announced that the sixth season of the Leaders of Russia management contest would become a team competition at Putin's suggestion. Kiriyenko clarified that now teams of five people who are related to each other through joint activities or are colleagues at work or projects can apply for the competition. The deputy Head of the presidential Administration added that the general requirements remain the same, in particular, participants must have at least two years of managerial experience.
