An Amur tiger died in an accident in the Khabarovsk Territory. This was announced on December 25 by the State Traffic Inspectorate for the region.

According to the agency, a wild animal suddenly jumped onto the roadway directly under the wheels of a Nissan X-Trail car moving towards Vladivostok. Due to the impact on the left wing of the car, the tiger was thrown onto passing vehicles.

"As a result of the accident, the animal died. Four cars were damaged. People were not injured," the ministry added.

They added that the Amur tiger is listed in the Red Book and the fine for its death can reach 2 million rubles.
