The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has requested seven years in a high-security penal colony for Sergei Udaltsov, coordinator of the Left Front (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) in the case of justifying terrorism. This was reported to Izvestia on December 25 in court.

The criminal case against Udaltsov was initiated in December 2023. The reason was a post on the Web where a man expressed support for members of the terrorist community accused of preparing a violent seizure of power. He was later taken into custody.

In April of this year, the Second Western District Military Court extended Udaltsov's arrest (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) for six months.

In January last year, the Basmanny Court of Moscow granted the investigation's request to detain Udaltsov. His lawyer informed about the demand of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation to arrest the man.

Sergei Udaltsov was released from prison in 2017, where he served 4.5 years for organizing riots on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow in May 2012. After that, he was repeatedly detained for violations during the organization of actions and rallies.
