Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on December 25 that he had called a French journalist in the Laurent Vinatier case (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I can only confirm that I did indeed call on behalf of the president and passed this information to the journalist," Peskov said.
