Roszdravnadzor estimated the number of quetiapine-based drugs in pharmacies
The remains of quetiapine-based medicines used for the treatment of schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and other similar diseases account for almost 1 million packages in Russia. This was reported on December 25 in Roszdravnadzor.
The ministry said that 24 drugs with the international nonproprietary name (INN) Quetiapine, domestic and foreign production, have been registered in the Russian Federation, Interfax cites the statement.
"They are stably produced and supplied to medical and pharmacy chains. The remnants, according to the drug labeling system, amount to almost 1 million packages," the press service said.
It is noted that since the beginning of 2025, more than 3 million packages have been put into pharmacy circulation, which is more than in previous years.
In October, the honorary representative of the Council for the Promotion of Pharmaceutical Exports of the Republic, Divesh Kumar, told Izvestia that New Delhi intends to increase the supply of medicines to Russia in 2026, in particular, it is about exporting more antidepressants. According to RNC Pharma, the supply of medicines from India to Russia in January – August 2025 amounted to 196.3 million packages.
