In the city of Bratsk, Irkutsk region, an elderly man died as a result of a fire in a garage and construction cooperative. This was announced by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on Thursday, December 25.

The fire occurred late on Tuesday evening, December 23, on the territory of the Galachinsky-2 garage and construction cooperative. Rescuers opened the gates of the burning garage with a gas cutter.

They found a 77-year-old man with no signs of life in the car inside. The fire area was 24 square meters, writes IA IrkutskMedia.

According to the information of the investigators of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the cause of the fire was an emergency operation of the power grid.

In November, a fire broke out in a private garage in Yakutsk. As a result, a 55-year-old woman died.
