Novak announced the final stage of preparations for signing the Power of Siberia–2 deal

Preparations for the signing of commercial agreements on the supply of Russian gas via the Power of Siberia–2 gas pipeline to China are in the final stages. This was announced on December 25 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

"The Power of Siberia–2 gas pipeline through Mongolia has already been designed. Our companies and partners are at the final stage of entering into commercial agreements on gas supplies," he said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that the parties to the agreement expect this event.

According to experts, Moscow and Beijing are able to reach an agreement on the gas pipeline as early as this year.

On September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the Power of Siberia–2 gas pipeline is a mutually beneficial project. According to him, the negotiations on the project were long, but everyone was striving to achieve a result. The Head of State also noted that the Power of Siberia–2 is one of the largest energy projects in the world.
