Zakharova called Russophobia a new form of Nazism in Western countries
Western countries fell ill with Nazism, which took the form of Russophobia. This was announced on December 25 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"They (Western countries. They fell ill with Russophobia, nationalism, and Nazism, as it usually happened to them before. Now that the first quarter of the 21st century has ended, this disease has taken on such ugly forms — in the form of Russophobia," Zakharova said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
She noted that because of the "disease" the Western authorities sacrificed the economies of their countries. Zakharova cited the leadership of Germany, Italy, France and Spain as an example. According to her, the current authorities have plunged their own states into crisis, adds "Газета.Ru ".
In November, the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the adoption of a resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism in the Third Committee of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, noted that the West continues to encourage dangerous trends. The Foreign Ministry added that the resolution captures concern about attempts to portray as heroes those who fought against the anti-Hitler coalition during World War II, collaborated with Nazi Germany and were involved in war crimes.
