Residents of Lipetsk complain about bats flying into apartments
Bats fly into the apartments of Lipetsk residents. One such animal turned up the day before, on December 24, in an apartment building on Studentskiy Gorodok Street. The bat was caught by rescuers and sent to the zoo, where it will wait for spring.
According to GOROD48, with reference to the press service of the city's civil defense and Emergency management department, rescuers had to go out twice that day to catch bats. The second time — in the entrance of the house on Plekhanova Street. Rescuers also took the animal to the zoo as in the first case.
The rescue service explained that the bats are looking for a suitable place to hibernate. According to the Lipetsk Zoo staff, bats cannot be released into the wild in the cold, as they may be at rest and freeze in the cold.
The Lipetsk Zoo implements the EARAZA program "Protection and rehabilitation of bats". It is aimed at studying and preserving bats in Russia.
On October 11, the press service of the Moscow Zoo announced the birth of a baby monkey of the Diana species listed in the Red Book. It was noted that the baby was born on September 1, and two weeks later he began to crawl off his mother, named Fiona, and explore the world around him.
