Russians named the most anticipated gifts from the "Secret Santa"
Women expect to receive certificates from donors in the Secret Santa game, while men expect to receive electronic equipment. These conclusions were reached in the course of their own research by Ingosstrakh and the NAFI Analytical Center.
According to the survey, the majority of Russians (57%) have not played "Secret Santa", but would like to do so. More than a quarter of the respondents (27%) participated in the gift exchange. A typical portrait of a participant in the "Secret Santa" is a girl, 18-24 years old with a university degree, living in a megalopolis. 16% of Russians have never participated in this New Year's game and would not like to participate. This is more often said by men (20%), residents of small towns (21%) and people aged 45-65 (21%).
Almost one in five respondents (18%) said they had no concerns about exchanging gifts. Men (23%) and people aged 45-65 (21%) answered this way more often. However, the vast majority (82%) have fears. The most common of them are: not guessing with a gift and disappointing the recipient (27%) and receiving a useless gift (20%).
Most of the respondents would like to receive a practical and useful gift from the "Secret Santa." The top 3 most coveted items include: a certificate for purchase in a store, marketplace — 33%, electronic equipment — 23%, souvenir, decorative item — 22%. More than half of Russians (55%) consider 500-1000 rubles to be the optimal gift price.
Men were more likely than women to say that they would like to receive electronic equipment (29%) and alcoholic beverages (15%) from the "Secret Santa." In turn, women would prefer a certificate for purchase in a store, marketplace (38%) or for services (20%) more than men. Young people aged 18-24 prefer hobby items (37%) and practical items for everyday use (31%) more than representatives of other ages.
"Russians want to receive not just a pleasant surprise, but a gift that has practical benefits," said Alexey Romanov, director of Ingosstrakh's e—commerce department.
