Albert Trishkin, a former judge of the Second Western District Military Court, who shot a taxi driver in 2024, asked the court to make a fair decision. This was reported on December 25 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

"I don't deny it, I'm sorry. As a result of my actions, a person was harmed. <...> I hope for a fair court decision. Well, I don't hope so, it will certainly be so," Trishkin said, giving his last word.

He added that he had repeatedly tried to compensate the victim, but his suggestions were ignored.

According to investigators, in August 2024, the ex-judge quarreled with a taxi driver who blocked his path and shot the driver in the leg with a Makarov traumatic pistol. According to Trishkin, he found the gun "behind the garages" two days before the incident and was going to hand it over to the police department, but did not have time.

Later, Trishkin's son, who testified in the case, reported that the weapon was found near the military court. It also turned out that the ex-judge was rude and threatened by a policeman who tried to get an explanation from him about the case. Commenting on this, Trishkin said that he did not take the call from the Interior Ministry officer seriously, deciding that a fraudster had called him.

A criminal case was opened against Trishkin under paragraphs "d", "e", "h", Part 2 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health from hooligan motives motivated by hatred of any social group using objects used as weapons") on September 28. It was noted that he faces up to five years in prison. Prior to that, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, asked for permission to initiate a case, shortly after which Trishkin resigned.

On December 23, the prosecutor requested a three-year suspended sentence for Trishkin. In addition, the state prosecution petitioned for partial satisfaction of the victim's claim and recovery of 500 thousand rubles in his favor. On the same day, Trishkin apologized to the victim.
