Veterans Avenue in St. Petersburg was extended by almost 1 km.
In St. Petersburg, Veterans Avenue has become 746 m longer. This happened after the completion of the construction of the first stage of the road, which is led by the Setl Group holding. The new section, starting from Budyonny Avenue, will gradually open as residents move into the block.
A new four-lane section of the main highway in the southwest of the city has been equipped with sidewalks and bike paths. Street lighting has been adjusted, pavilions have appeared at public transport stops. Side passageways with parking lots have been set up on the sides of the avenue. The road should relieve the city's transport network, and the neighborhood will become more accessible.
78.ru clarifies that the total length of the section of Veterans Avenue, from Budyonny Avenue to Krasnoselskoye Highway, is 1.2 km. In 2026, the remaining 454 meters of the second stage of the project will be built.
Earlier, on December 24, it was reported that St. Petersburg had launched traffic ahead of schedule at a transport interchange with access to Pulkovo Airport. It is noted that the construction was completed one year ahead of schedule. According to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, this road is a strategic facility that will connect the M-11 Neva highway and the airport. Khusnullin stressed that the length of the road was 5.5 km.
