"Matryoshka of Moscow" in Zaryadye Park will show a New Year's multimedia performance

In Zaryadye Park at the innovative attraction "Matryoshka of Moscow. A new point of attraction" on December 27, at 18:00, a New Year's multimedia show will be shown. Park guests will see a vivid premiere of a digital fairy tale based on The Nutcracker. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.

According to him, Moscow experts in the field of 3D design have prepared 25 New Year's plots united by a common idea. The main topic will be the history of New Year's Eve celebrations — from tsarist Russia to the present day. The audience will get acquainted with it in the format of a multimedia time travel. The capital's designers have created unique symbols for each of the eras. Among them are 3D digital replicas of Christmas tree toys from the 1930s, 1960s, and 1980s, retro space—themed postcards, disco balls, and Soviet cathode ray tube televisions.

In addition, the artists will perform famous pieces of music during the event.

At the end of the festive program, guests will see the premiere of a digital fairy tale based on "The Nutcracker" in "a bright modern interpretation using 3D graphics and a kinetic installation that will change its shape throughout the program," Liksutov said.

He stressed that work on the New Year's show began in the summer, when it was created, specialists studied archival photographs. "This is the third thematic program at the digital facility, and it completes the cycle of large-scale events in 2025. According to the task of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, in 2026 we will continue to create exclusive multimedia performances for state and city holidays," Liksutov added.
