The Indian ambassador explained the purchase of Russian oil at an attractive price
Indian companies buy oil from Russia based on commercial expediency and its attractive price. This was announced on December 25 by Indian Ambassador to Moscow Vinay Kumar.
"Indian companies have been operating in this market for a long time and have been operating in other energy markets around the world for decades. They will make decisions that meet their commercial interests," the diplomat said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
He added that price plays an important role in determining commercial feasibility, which is why companies buy crude oil in this market, but stressed that he was not aware of commercial negotiations.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 5 that the sale of Russian oil to India was beneficial to both sides. He noted that India is a major buyer of Russian oil and earns significant funds from this.
Prior to that, on December 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that trade in Russian petroleum products in India was proceeding rhythmically. He also noted that the Russian partners highly appreciate their Indian colleagues, considering them reliable and serious people.
