According to Onufrienko, products from the human table can be dangerous for animals: chocolate containing caffeine and theobromine, as well as sweets like grapes and raisins can cause seizures, heart or kidney problems.

Salty, fatty, and spicy foods increase the risk of pancreatitis, obesity, and liver and kidney disorders, while onions, garlic, and avocados are toxic to pets. Alcohol and bones, especially chicken bones, are also prohibited due to the danger to the digestive system and the heart of animals.

"In order to avoid unpleasant consequences, it is strongly not recommended to feed your pet food from the table, even if it seems to you that he is persistently begging for a tasty morsel. The short—term joy of a "forbidden" treat can turn into serious health problems," the expert explained.

She advised to please pets only with safe treats for cats and dogs, the composition of which is balanced taking into account the physiological needs of animals. Such treats are well absorbed, do not disrupt digestion and can bring additional benefits — to clean teeth, strengthen gums and keep fresh breath.
