Russian military eliminated a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in Krasnoarmeysk

Servicemen of the 71st separate special purpose battalion of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Center group of forces eliminated a group of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who tried to resist in the Lazurny microdistrict in the city of Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The corresponding footage was published on December 25 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Along this house [we] moved. We stopped at the corner: we saw the APU running out of here," recalls Vladimir Shubin, commander of the rifle platoon.

Further on, in the published footage, the cameraman turned the camera to a ravine in which lay two bodies of liquidated militants with characteristic identification marks made of green tape.

It is noted that the remaining forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine moved "in twos" and tried to find ways to escape from the city, which was controlled by the Russian Army.

"Here they are, please. <...> Either surrender, or here...," the platoon commander summed up and pointed to the bodies.

Vladimir Putin called the situation on the battlefield a "tragedy for the Ukrainian people" because of the "thieving junta"

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on December 1 that Russian President Vladimir Putin had received reports on the liberation of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic and Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. It was clarified that he had heard reports from Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, commander of the Center group Valery Solodchuk and commander of the Vostok group Andrei Ivanaev.

On December 18, Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, said that since the beginning of the year, the Donetsk operational and tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had lost 225,000 people and 242 tanks. In addition, the enemy lost more than 2.2 thousand armored combat vehicles and over 3.6 thousand guns and mortars. According to the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, this accounted for almost half of the losses of the Ukrainian army in the area of the special military operation.
