KCNA announced the launch of a long-range missile by the DPRK
North Korea has launched a long-range missile towards the East Sea. This was reported on December 24 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"Comrade Kim Jong-un (Chairman of the State Affairs of the DPRK. — Ed.) congratulated on the success of the test," the publication noted.
It is specified that the test was organized by the General Directorate of Rocket Engineering of the DPRK. The latest high-altitude and long-range anti-aircraft missiles were used. The launches made it possible to check the tactical and technical characteristics of the system, and the missiles successfully hit conditional targets at a distance of 200 km.
The event became part of the regular work on the development of air defense and strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
Earlier, on December 23, it was reported that South Korea's first commercial space rocket, Innospace's Hanbit-Nano, crashed immediately after launch. It is noted that the missile fell within the ground safety zone, there were no reports of casualties or additional damage.
