Overeating tangerines, especially in combination with certain foods at the New Year's table, threatens the development of pseudoallergic reactions. Nutritionist, gastroenterologist Nuria Dianova told about this on Wednesday, December 24.

According to her, the recommended norm is 150-200 grams of tangerines per day.

"We all know the main advantages of tangerines: vitamin C, essential oils that have an incredibly positive effect on energy levels and mood, and antioxidants that help prevent atherosclerosis. But if we overeat tangerines — and we usually overeat them anyway - there is a risk of developing pseudoallergic reactions," said Diana in a conversation with IA Regnum.

According to the expert, all citrus fruits increase the production of histamine in the body, and its excess leads to itchy skin and mild enterocolitis. She added that this is how histamine works.

On the eve of December 23, reflexologist, Qigong master Irina Starkova said that citizens who have stomach or pancreatic problems should give up tangerines for the New Year.

On December 21, it was reported that in January–November 2025, Russia significantly increased imports of Chinese tangerines, reaching a record of $78.1 million, which is 16% more than in the same period last year. Pravda.Ru . This is the highest rate in the last 10 years.
