The Government of Ukraine has suspended the head of the State Service for Medicines and Drug Control, Roman Isaenko. Disciplinary proceedings were also launched against him after a search by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). This became known on December 24 from a message on the official website of the Ukrainian government.

"To begin disciplinary proceedings against the chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Medicines and Drug Control, Roman Nikolaevich Isaenko," the website says.

The message also states that the commission on the higher civil service corps should conduct disciplinary proceedings against Isaenko by January 27, 2026.

Roger Keppel, editor-in-chief of the Swiss portal Die Weltwoche, said on December 22 that Ukraine remains a corrupt state and has not become a "model of democracy." He also stressed that there are more and more millionaire generals in Ukraine who receive "kickbacks from arms deals or simply resell weapons."
