Psychologist Alyona Lenkovskaya explained the strange behavior of the Olympic champion in team competitions, Russian figure skater Alexander Gallyamov, who, together with his partner, won silver at the Russian championships.

In conversation with aif.ru On Wednesday, December 24, the specialist noted that "in Alexander's case, it is definitely worth considering that he is an athlete and very successful." According to her, professional failures — or what they perceive as such — can be especially acute for people with a certain character and upbringing. In such cases, people often identify their work mistakes with their own personality.

"And then the failure is attributed to the fact that he, as a person and a professional, began to pass. All this creates an internal conflict, which often turns into an external conflict," the specialist explained.

This, according to Lenkovskaya, is why Alexander's conflicts with others and his defiant behavior are connected. In her opinion, the athlete needs understanding and support.

The psychologist added that aggression is often associated with various fears — loss of form, professional decline or loss of leadership positions. In some cases, it becomes a way to cope with anxiety, and regular outbursts of aggression can indicate a personal crisis.

Psychologist Irina Krasnova noted that emotional instability is typical for male athletes of this age. We are talking about high expectations and burnout, but there is no reason to talk about Gallyamov's retirement from big-time sports: he has high ambitions, a leadership mentality and a desire to be only the first, which is why he was not ready to give in.

On December 21, Gallyamov spoke harshly about a journalist from Izvestia who called him early in the morning after a speech. He was angered by the call at a time when he wanted to get some sleep after a free program. He called the journalist sick in the head and said that he considered such an act extremely despicable, writes NSN. He even threatened to "light up" the caller's number.

Later, the skater refused to publicly apologize for insulting the journalist. The athlete offered to meet with the journalist personally and discuss the incident.

On Saturday, December 20, Gallyamov, paired with Anastasia Mishina, won the silver medal with a score of 223.62 points at the Russian Championships in St. Petersburg, losing to the duo of Dmitry Kozlovsky and Alexandra Boikova. 360.ru . According to the sum of the short and free programs, the winners scored 224.29 points, the website writes kp.ru Mishina and Gallyamov rolled back the short and arbitrary programs with almost no errors, but the partner fell from the penultimate element — a triple flip release, RT clarifies.
