Deputy Mayor Sergunina appreciated the economic impact of the Moscow Fashion Week

Moscow Fashion Week, which took place for the fifth time between August 28 and September 2 this year, has become a significant event for the fashion industry. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina, noting that the Russian capital annually strengthens cooperation with international partners and helps domestic brands to promote in promising markets.

This year, compared to the fourth season, the Week's attendance doubled to 120,000 people. The number of participating designers has also doubled to more than 360.

"Collectively, over all seasons, agreements have been reached to conclude contracts for more than a billion rubles, a third of this amount is the result of the fifth Fashion Week," said the vice mayor, "but the real economic effect is even broader. Moscow Fashion Week provides an additional impetus for the development of event tourism, the creative sector of the economy, the manufacturing industry and other related areas."

According to Sergunina, the most important objectives of the project are to promote domestic producers, expand their presence in domestic and foreign markets, as well as cultural exchange.

Representatives of 13 countries took part in the fifth Moscow Fashion Week, from China and India to Turkey and South Africa. Designers from 33 Russian cities presented their collections, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Simferopol, Murmansk, Krasnodar, Kazan, Yakutsk, Chelyabinsk, Rostov-on-Don, Omsk and Yekaterinburg.

During the event, experts also held 25 lectures on fashion traditions, continuity, digital technologies in the industry, and discussed the integration of cultural codes into modern design.
