Paris Match: French military trains in Kiev-controlled part of Donbas

On the territory of Donbass, controlled by the Kiev authorities, there are French military personnel who come there to train in drone control together with Ukrainian servicemen. The French magazine Paris Match wrote about this on December 24, citing a statement from the drone operator of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

According to him, the French military is launching drones in "hidden thickets." The exact location of their location is not reported, but it is known that the point is located north of the Kramatorsk agglomeration. The media notes that the French military is probably testing secret Gara-Esse drones designed for reconnaissance and strikes deep into Russian territory.

"Its operating ceiling, speed and flight range are a top secret," the magazine writes.

As indicated in the article, the military of the French Rarog regiment, who work with drones, are among the most secretive and skilled in the Ukrainian army. One of the Ukrainian soldiers reported that he had been trained in France in the 2nd parachute regiment of the French foreign Legion. According to him, starting in 2023, he was able to turn "from a student into a professor."
