- The Council under the President of the Russian Federation discussed the development of the Cossacks in Russia
Within the framework of state policy, it is necessary to prioritize the development of the human resources potential of the Cossacks. This was stated on December 24 by Dmitry Mironov, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, at a meeting of the Council for Cossack Affairs under the President of Russia.
"Support for the development of the human resources potential of the Russian Cossacks should be at the forefront. The All—Russian Cossack Society has done a lot of work in this direction this year, and it also needs to be actively promoted at the regional level," said Mironov.
Among other priorities, Mironov named the creation of scientific foundations for the formation of students' understanding of the Cossacks, including the testing of the textbook "History of the Cossacks of Russia."
According to the presidential aide, the development and integration of the Cossacks in the new regions is being carried out especially carefully in order to accelerate the integration of newly created Cossack societies into the All-Russian Cossack Society.
"A significant event took place in November of this year. The Cossack society of the Lugansk People's Republic merged into the district and became part of the military Cossack society.: The Great Army of the Don," Mironov recalled.
In addition, he noted that work is dynamically developing to restore the structure of Cossack societies in the historical regions of the federation, as well as work is underway to create district Cossack societies in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
Earlier, on November 26, the ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society, Vitaly Kuznetsov, said that the Cossacks had become a home for many, as they united the peoples on the front line after the start of a special military operation. As the ataman pointed out, 47,000 Cossacks have already completed the special operation, and more than 5,000 have received state awards.
