A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Vostok group of troops liberated the village of Zarechnoye in the Zaporizhia region. In addition, the North group of troops improved the tactical situation and defeated the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

"The units of the Center group of forces continue to destroy the encircled enemy in the city of Dimitrov and clean up the Rodinskoye settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic from scattered formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The manpower and equipment of four mechanized, jaeger, amphibious assault, airborne, airmobile, assault brigades, two regiments of unmanned systems, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades, two air defense brigades, and the Azov special forces brigade (recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization. — Ed.) and four National Guard brigades in the areas of settlements <...> of the Donetsk People's Republic and <...> of the Dnipropetrovsk region," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated enterprises of the military industry, facilities of the fuel and energy complex and transport infrastructure of Ukraine used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 147 districts.

In turn, air defense systems shot down nine guided aerial bombs, two HIMARS multiple rocket launchers made in the USA and 335 drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 104,481 UAVs, 640 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,696 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,634 multiple launch rocket launchers, 32,122 field artillery and mortars, 49,878 pieces of special vehicles.
