On December 24, the Federation Council allowed age verification using the MAX app when purchasing tobacco, alcohol, and energy drinks.

"The law establishes the possibility to confirm the age of the buyer using a multifunctional information exchange service," said Senator Artem Sheikin, quoted by RIA Novosti.
