The bomber who set off an explosion on Yeletskaya Street in the south of Moscow, which killed two traffic police officers, acted at the behest of fraudsters. This was announced on December 24 by a source of Izvestia.

The interlocutor said that telephone scammers deceived the man by hacking the Gosuslugi service. He was misled into saying that he was cooperating with law enforcement agencies and disrupting an espionage operation. The criminals instructed the man to plant an explosive device under the car.

According to the source, the bomber specifically came from the Ivanovo region to commit sabotage.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that a loud explosion had occurred in the south of Moscow. Fragments were visible on the road. The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case in connection with the incident. As a result of the explosion, two traffic police officers were killed.

Later it was reported that the death toll in the explosion increased to three people. According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the criminal case on the incident will be investigated as an attempt on the life of traffic police officers. It was clarified that the explosion occurred on Yeletskaya Street. According to the investigation, two traffic police officers noticed a suspicious person at a police official car. When they approached to detain him, an explosive device was detonated.
