The fighters of the Vostok group told the details of the liberation of Andreevka

The liberation of the Andreevka settlement in the Dnipropetrovsk region by the efforts of the Guards of the 36th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army of the Vostok group of forces allowed the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to inflict a significant defeat. This was reported on December 24 in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"As a result of the offensive actions, units of the Vostok group of forces have liberated an important enemy defense area of more than 9 square kilometers. About 510 buildings and structures were cleared during the fighting. The enemy suffered serious losses in manpower and equipment," the ministry said.

The Russian military entered the settlement through a forest belt. There, two enemy strongholds were located on the approaches, which were destroyed as a result. The first fighters entrenched themselves in houses on the outskirts and waited there for the arrival of the remaining forces. After that, a complete sweep of Andreevka began, house by house.

"The task was to enter the first houses and gain a foothold. The approaches are open, everything has been mined. We went into the fog, it helped a lot. When they entered the settlement, they reported and began to wait for reinforcements. The enemy resisted: two machine-gun emplacements were in the houses. They were bypassed from two sides, and a comrade was distracting them from the third. They threw grenades and finished off with small—arms fire," recalls the stormtrooper with the call sign Koshchey.

The encircled militants are being attacked by a brigade that Ukrainian propaganda has declared destroyed several times.

A day earlier, the Ministry of Defense announced the capture of the settlements of Andreevka in the Dnipropetrovsk region and Prilipka in the Kharkiv region. On the same day, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the servicemen. He also noted the courage and bravery of the Russian military, who ensure the successful completion of tasks in the area of the special military operation, and expressed confidence in their continued service to the Motherland with honor.
