The letter "A" was recognized as the most popular letter of the Russian alphabet. This was announced on December 24 at the Institute of Russian Studies.

"According to Russian scientists, the first letter in the alphabet is "A". And, if we talk about sounding speech, then it is more correct to talk not about the letter, but about the sound "A". We are talking about a literary norm, and in the Russian language there is a phenomenon of reduction, when the word "good" is heard as "harasho," RIA Novosti quotes the statement.
