In Russia, from January 1, 2026, the self-employed will be able to receive paid sick leave. Mikhail Merkulov, Director of the Organizational Development Practice at KSK Group, told about this on December 24.

"To achieve this goal, FZ-456 was adopted on December 15, 2025, offering the self-employed to voluntarily pay insurance premiums in the specified amount in exchange for sick leave payments," the Prime agency quoted him as saying.
